Educated in Switzerland and trained as a chef, Peter Egli studied hotel management at the Swiss Hotel Management School SHL, Lucerne. He also trained as Quartermaster and served in the Swiss Air Force to the rank of a captain until 2004.
In 1993 Peter joined the Grand Hotels in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, where he was promoted to Deputy Manager. This was an incredible opportunity for him to be actively involved with the management of the golf and spa resort and bring it into the future. The project involved a complete rebuild of 106 rooms to the five star ‘Grand Hotel, Quellenhof with restaurant and bar, integration of the golf club restaurant, the casino with bar and the integration of the existing 137 rooms, four different restaurants and award winning spa at the four star ‘Grand Hotel Hof Ragaz’ to form one of Europe’s leading luxury resorts.
Peter is a founding committee member of the World Wine Festival, Bad Ragaz, which he chaired until 2004. Peter moved with his wife and two children in 2004 to Malmesbury as General Manager of Whatley Manor. He became a Master Innholder in 2011.
