Great British Menu – Series 15 featuring Niall Keating
Representing the Central Region, Niall’s fish course “The witches of the northern lights” featured in the final banquet where Niall was named “Champion of Champions’
The 15th series of BBC Two’s Great British Menu started on 18th March 2020, and among the first episode’s chef contestants was Niall Keating, Executive Chef of Whatley Manor, who was competing to represent the Central Region of the UK.
The brief for the new series was to celebrate ‘Britain’s Success in Children’s Literature’, and each chef was tasked to create imaginative dishes that evoke some of their favoured youthful stories.
Niall Keating joined Whatley Manor in late 2017, and quickly achieved two Michelin stars for his contemporary Asian-inspired cuisine in The Dining Room at the luxury Cotswolds country house hotel. His background encompasses prestigious international experience, including at Kong Hans Kælder in Copenhagen (two Michelin stars), in San Francisco at three Michelin-starred Benu, and at Sat Bains in Nottingham (two Michelin stars).
Alongside the team of judges, which includes Matthew Fort, Oliver Peyton and Andi Oliver, will be newcomer, comedian Susan Calman, who will present the show from within the studio kitchens.
The series will runs from 18th March through May, culminating in a gala televised banquet.
