New for 2017; Introducing the Celebration Jazz Band

A local band formed in 1983 by Tim Newman & Roger White the band is currently celebrating its 33rd year! The bands repertoire relies on popular songs of yesteryear, rags, marches and spirituals with composers such as Handy, Joplin, Morton, Armstrong and Oliver much in evidence. Other members of the band include Phil Wall, Clarence Nugent,Ray Smith, Pete Middleton, and John Massey.

The Jez Cook Trio

Jez originally brought this trio together for a one-off festive gig in 2012. They have been treating audiences to their own blend of Gypsy influenced acoustic jazz, ever since.

Jez is well known for his work in Django Reinhardt-style hot club bands and has performed extensively with mainstream jazz artists.

Raphael Mizraki started working at the age of fourteen as a professional jazz drummer and pianist. For the last ten years his main instrument has been the electric bass.

Simon Bradley’s gigging career began at the age of 14 playing with rock and blues bands. For the last 10 years Simon has refocused on jazz, making appearances with many talented performers.

Progressions Jazz Band

Formed in 2012 Progressions is fast making a name for itself in the Bath and Bristol area. Playing a wide repertoire of blues, jazz, swing and funk plus its own original material they are sure to entertain.  A vocalist may feature on some of the gigs planned.
