An evening with Gaia in Aquarias Spa

Aquarias Spa recently hosted an event to relaunch GAIA Skincare, invitations were extended to our local community and spa members to learn all about GAIA Skincare. The evening was hosted by Diane Nettleton, found of GAIA ,  Sue Williams and Michele Mella, Whatley’s outgoing and incoming General Managers and Spa Manager Annette Hall and her team.

GAIA Skincare is a product and wellness brand that was introduced to Aquarias Spa initially in 2019 as the brand shares many of our values around sustainability and is known for its natural, British-made, and sustainably-minded wellness solutions.

GAIA’s products and spa treatments avoid harsh chemicals and synthetic colors, which can be damaging for both the body and the natural environment. Aquarias Spa and GAIA Skincare share a vision of being in harmony with Mother Nature, and this shared vision was the missing link that brought them together.

At the event, Diane Nettleton, founder of GAIA Skincare, shared her personal story of how and why she launched GAIA Skincare. She talked about her approach to product development, how she chooses natural ingredients for GAIA formulations, and what wellness means in today’s times.

Guests were then invited to experience GAIA products on their own skin with sensory testing at interactive stations. Aquarias Spa therapists led guests through a mini-facial cleanse using GAIA products. Anette Hall, Aquarias Spa Manager, also demonstrated how to use the Jade Gua Sha stone to relieve tension, reduce puffiness, contour, lift, and improve circulation for naturally glowing skin.

A selection of mostly plant-based canapes were served alongside house blended juices and natural wines. The evening concluded with a relaxing Sleep Ritual using GAIA Sleep products, including a Sleep Balm and Sleep Spray. A cup of ‘Sleepy Tea’, blended by the Teahouse Emporium in Bath, was served, before guests were guided through a breathing and meditation practice to alleviate stress.

Guests were also given a goodie bag featuring a travel-sized GAIA product to continue the benefits of their GAIA experience at home. GAIA treatments can be experienced at Aquarias Spa starting from £100 for a sixty-minute Gaia Jade facial.

Our thanks to Baked by Beth for the Pistachio, Matcha and Lime Cake Squares; plant powered, naturally made and beautifully decorated.

Bath Life beauty columnist Sarah Baker joined us for the evening and commented: Loved the Gaia story and products. I used my face wash last night and it was exquisite!”
