Garden Tours

Explore the Whatley Gardens

The gardens at Whatley are something very special; across our 12 acres there are 26 individual garden rooms, a wildflower meadow, orchard and an array of sculptures and garden art to discover. During our guided Garden Tours you will learn the history of the gardens, discover our plans for the future and how the gardens are managed across the year.

Our Head Gardener, David Pearce joined Whatley in 2021 and has brought an inspiring new approach to the gardens.

David has a passion for gardens of the Arts and Crafts era and is restoring the authenticity of this period to the Whatley gardens. He is also an advocate of sustainable, organic and ecological horticulture and has introduced “no dig”, organic practices in the kitchen garden. Working with a talented team who embrace his horticultural practices and commitment to sustainable gardening there are exciting times ahead for the Whatley gardens.
