Festive Events at Whatley

Step away from the Christmas rush and make space for something slower.

Our festive workshops invite you to spend a few hours creating, learning and reconnecting with the season. Guided by talented local makers and accompanied by warm Whatley hospitality, each experience leaves you with something to take home and enjoy.

THE WINTER POUR

Friday 27 November 2026
£75 per person

As winter settles over the Cotswolds, join us for a slower, more mindful way to welcome the season.

Led by Jennie from Misneach Remedies, The Winter Pour is an immersive candle-making workshop inspired by the comforting scents of winter. Explore carefully a curated collection of warming, woody and seasonal essential oils, learning about their therapeutic properties before blending a fragrance that feels entirely your own.

Perhaps it will evoke crackling fires, quiet woodland walks or cosy afternoons spent indoors. Whatever you create, it will be yours to take home and enjoy throughout the winter months.

After the workshop, settle into the warmth of the hotel for a traditional cream tea in our Lounges.

10am – Arrival, with tea & coffee
10:30am – Workshop begins
12:30pm – Cream Tea

Your Experience Includes:
     Tea & Coffee on arrival
     A two-hour, hands-on candle-making workshop
     All materials and ingredients
Your bespoke winter candle to take home
A traditional cream tea in our lounges

Whether you join us with a friend or take a little more time for yourself, The Winter Pour is a gentle way to pause, create and embrace the quieter rhythm of the season.

CHRISTMAS WREATH MAKING

Saturday 28 November | Saturday 5 December
Friday 11 December | Saturday 12 December

Spend a relaxed morning among the scent and texture of winter foliage as Master Florist Emily Hepworth, founder of Persephone Violet, guides you through the art of traditional wreath making.

With more than 20 years of floristry experience, Emily will take you through every stage of the process, from creating a natural moss base to layering seasonal foliage, decorations, and luxurious ribbons.
