Dear Whatley friends,
As many of you know, we had our heart set on opening the doors to welcome you back to Whatley on the 4thJuly for hotel stays.
Since then, we have been waiting for further confirmation from the Government on measures such as physical distancing and the practical implementation for reopening the hospitality sector.
As we have only just received this advice we feel that we need extra time to be able to confidently open and deliver the hotel guest experience that we want to.
A stay at Whatley has always been about relaxation, indulgence and guest care; we want to do all we can to ensure that this remains the case. When you visit us we want that experience to feel as close to “normal” as it can possibly be.
For us this means that we have to understand the practical measures that the Government set out and implement them in the best way possible to facilitate safety whilst also ensuring that your stay with us feels wonderfully relaxing visit.
During the closure period we have undertaken team training, adapting our service procedures to retain the attentiveness that our guests expect whilst observing distances and minimising contact wherever possible. The team have been so enthusiastic and wonderfully creative in finding ways to deliver a new Whatley experience that will feel just as luxurious as it always has.
On a practical level of course some things have had to change. We have reconfigured the layout of the house, dining rooms and spa to accommodate social distancing; we have rethought our outdoor spaces to ensure that everyone can find a quiet corner and enjoy the gardens.
This has not been an easy decision to make, however the most important thing to us, is you, the guest and when we open we want you to visit with confidence and leave feeling restored, relaxed and longing to return again soon.
Thank you for your patience, when we open again it will be with the quality of experience that you expect from Whatley and we cannot wait to see you.
Sue and the Whatley family
